But honestly, the only thing these claims managed to do was make us skeptical, but we were determined to find out for ourselves if the product would live up to its claims. We put it to a test to see what the internet craze is all about. Here is the experience for one of our reporter:  Diana Rains.

My Results

Week One

My membership login arrived in my email within 1 minute of signing up online.  I received a welcome letter from the Head Trainer - Philippe and a quick introduction about the program and a few motivation tips to help me get started. The first workout is called "Total Body Evolution" It's a high intensity interval workout that required no equipment. Honestly, it felt a little weird to follow a workout on my 14-inch laptop, but I soon got used it it and barely noticed it after a few minutes. The exercise started out relatively easy with basic upper body moves, but after about 10 minutes, the workout got quite intense and I was sweating like crazy! I was very glad that the high intensity intervals only lasted about 30 seconds, so I was able to catch a breath with the recovery moves and complete the 30 minute routine.

After the first day following the exercise program at “Level-1 (beginner) intensity level, my immediate reaction was “OMG, I’m so out of shape!" But the instructions are very detailed, and the trainer helped me pushed through it. 

I continued to workout 4 more times in week-one. Each day had a different routine like cardio kick boxing, core, and more HIIT routines. Other than day-4 that I had to skip because I had to work overtime, I completed a total of five 30-minutes exercise. On day-seven I got on the scale and was shocked to found that I had lost 5 pounds! That was an amazing feeling knowing that all my hard work is actually paying off.   I now weight under 165 pounds for the first time in years!

Week Two

Actually seeing the results from WorkoutBuddyX was very encouraging , so   I decided to check out the nutrition plan as well. I download the bonus diet ebook called “Fat Burning Blueprint 2.0”.  There are a bit over 100 pages of nutrition tips and recipes, but it's actually a surprisingly simple diet plan – it basically teaches you how to cut down a lot of the “fake” weight loss foods like diet soda, margarine, wheat product, and how and what to eat that keep my body in the “fat burning” zone.  I was kind of expecting a strict diet, but this nutrition plan give me a lot of flexibility, yet just enough structure to help me eat healthy to burn more fat.

Back to the exercise program. I didn't use any weight during my first week, but some of the exercises do require a moderate weight as resistance. My assigned trainer recommended me to just use an 1-gallon water bottles, which is about 8 pounds. Honestly, that was a little too much for me, so I actually pour out about half of the bottle to make it a 4-pound weight. I also completed five 30-minute workouts this week, and I could really feel my arms and my core being challenged a lot more with the water bottle. I was still sweating like crazy during each exercise, but I noticed that my body was not nearly as sore as week-1. 

Instead of being afraid of stepping on the scale, I actually felt excited stepping on the scale. On day-14, I was so relieved because I found that I lost another 6 pounds!

Week Three

After 3 weeks all my doubts had absolutely vanished! I was working so many different muscle groups at the same time, and sculpting them from so many different angles. My body feel so much stronger and fitter, I actually attempted some of the Level-2  (intermediate) exercises. 

Following the nutrition plan and start eating “clean” also started to pay off too.  My energy level is much higher.   I lost another 5 pounds after week-3. I know, this is 1 pound less than the previous week. But I actually don’t care, because I felt great!

Week Four

After the fourth week, my final results were shocking.  Not only I lost an unbelievable 21 pounds since starting the fitness and nutrition program. I actually felt much stronger from head to toe.  My skin looks amazing, My  posture is better, and I have a lot more stamina and endurance. 

I even started to cook more at home following the “5-minute Fat Burning Foods” recipes from the nutrition plan.  To be 100% honest, I was not the best cook, so it felt pretty good that I can make delicious and healthy foods in such a short time, and my kids love them too!

My jeans actually don’t  fit any more because I now have lost 2 inches off my waist.

Clinical Studies - Afterburn Training


The study, from scientists at Canada's McMaster University, adds to the growing evidence for the benefits of short term high-intensity interval training (HIT) as a time-efficient but safe alternative to traditional types of moderate long term exercise. Astonishingly, it is possible to get more by doing less!
